Chawston cont.

We went and saw this very old tree, over 400 years old...it had the longest limbs that were supported by posts.
We had to take the horse drawn carriage tour of the city. Unfortunatly our tour guides favorite saying was "Isn't that cool!" which he said after every statement he made...kind of annoying, even in that slow Chawston accent.
Isnt the frog suppose to turn into the prince??? Jason turned into a frog temporarily for this picture.

Charleston Vacation cont.

Here's our family beach pictures and some "photojournalistic" pictures...we had to take all of our beach walks at dusk...which was beautiful of course...

CHARLESTON VACATION- Day 1

He's definately ours...the first thing he did was head for the water...
So, it was suppose to rain our whole vacation b/c a recent hurricane, but it was a beautiful first day, so we rushed to the beach to get at least one day of sun...
Kaleb loved the sand and played in it for hours...look at the determined look on his face...he loved his shovel...
Well, finally he passed out and just had sand everywhere. So while he slept in my arms I took a wet wipe and wiped the sand from around his eyes. I should have taken the below picture as a hint b/c little did I know that the wipes stripped the sunscreen off his face and he got burnt around his left eye.
After we noticed we went in immediately but it was too late... He actually blistered and we felt sooo bad for him, although he looked worse than he felt. So, even though it did not rain even one day while we were there, we were forced inside b/c of Kaleb damaged sensitive skin...We felt like child abusers as we walked around town w/ our red and blistered little boy.
So, to all you parents that have not been to the beach yet...wash your child in the ocean and then reapply sunscreen!!!!

The ZOO

One of the first stops was the bird sanctuary
Then Kaleb enjoyed riding a lion on the ferris wheel
He didn't think the elephants were anything special, i mean, he has them in his room at home...
GiGi took him to the petting zoo...it can be a little scary!!

So, GiGi came into town last week so we wanted to go somewhere fun and new. We picked the zoo and had a good time, however it was soooo hot that we were completed exhausted and Kaleb seemed to be drained of all his regular energy that we will have to go back in the fall when he's also older. GiGi and him had a lot of fun playing that week and Kaleb hope's she can come back again soon!

Goofing Around!

One of Kaleb's favorite games is meandering in the sofa cusions
He's always thinking of new ways to use his toys..who knew the exercauser could double as a fort or soccer goal...
Notice the hand in the picture...we do not usually let Kaleb play with knifes!!
This was his first night of exploring the kitchen cabinets. I think we had as much fun as him!
When Kaleb first started crawling all my friends w/ kids said, oh, watch out now...and I didnt think it was too bad at all. Kaleb would just crawl from toy to toy...But NOW, he's a little explorer and is getting into everything....I didn't catch him quick enough the other day and he was splashing his hands in the toilet!!

He's standing alone now and even took his first step alone the other night...He couldn't weight shift to take another and fell on his face, but he's getting there...

He's finally getting his first teeth in. The bottom 2 are coming in together, so he has been a bit more fussy lately. He's also getting into that clingy stage, which is okay w/ me (for now), b/c he was never a cuddler, so i actually get to love on him some when he's awake now.

He says ba ba and mama, but has not said dada yet. I was talking to my friend Lan from China the other night and she told me that the word "father" in chinese is baba...so i told Jason this and he was very excited and proud...not only is he finally getting some appreciation, but his child is a bilinguist already!!

Trial Vacation

So we decided we needed to see how Kaleb would act in the sand before we spent money booking a vacation package, so one night we took him to the local sand volleyball courts and let him test the waters- i mean sand...at first he seemed a bit perplexed by the whole thing, then he thought it was fun and started to play with it. We got some good pictures and video and we're very confident about our trip plans...then, then...it happened, as expected, he put a huge handfull in his mouth and began crying and spitting it out...hopefully that will only happen a few times b/c we are still planning to go to the beach for vacation. We at first were attempting to go to Mexico and even got Kaleb a passport, but d/t the price of gas, the airline tickets became ridiculous so we just decided on Charleston, S.C. instead. We'll let you know how it goes...

4th of July fun

So the night started off with a boom...and Kaleb continued to sleep...
Then he decided to wake up and see some fireworks...he stayed interested for about 5 min...

Then, him and Abby started making sparks of their own!!! He likes older women!!
So, I know I am way behind in updating this blog so I will try to catch up...I guess one big reason is because I've been chasing Kaleb around the house. He started crawling at about 7 1/2 months and has not slowed down since.
